Lorna McCammon is a Family and Regulatory Law Specialist. Lorna held a senior position in a commercial firm before establishing the company in 2014.
Lorna deals with complex divorces often involving significant assets, a business or an international element. All of her clients come from recommendations and she often represents professionals and high profile individuals.
Lorna advises companies and individuals in Tax and Asset Recovery.
In particular, financial proceedings which overlap with the Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings (POCA). She works on complex civil confiscation cases and has dealt with individuals in proceedings which have been intervened by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on behalf of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) or the Serious Fraud Office (SFO). She has conducted cases in the Royal Courts of Justice and has represented individuals where the benefit figures have ranged from 2 million to 1 billion.
She frequently represents third parties who have a financial interest in confiscation proceedings. There are competing interests to be considered, the CPS in the recovery of the assets balanced with the legal rights of the non convicted family member, children or any third party who may have a financial interest in the restrained assets. Lorna has a strong record of representing parties in these complex proceedings and has established a reputation for expertise successfully protecting third party interests.
Lorna advises individuals and businesses who are subject to civil or criminal tax investigations. She works alongside nationally recognised experts who are able to successfully assist to navigate complex regulatory issues to ensure that correct representations are made.
Lorna is instructed by the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry for regulatory and commercial advice and is retained by companies for ongoing advice with compliance and commercial dispute issues.
Senior Associate Solicitor
Kate Corby worked at a leading Manchester Commercial Firm for over ten years before joining the team. Kate is very experienced in handling complex matrimonial cases, often involving business assets and pensions. Kate has a reputation for having excellent case preparation and a ‘keen eye for detail’. She has experience with cases with an international element including cross jurisdictional enforcement in the Channel Islands, Europe and Africa.
Specialist Children Solicitor
Sophia Khan previously worked for the National Children’s Charity representing children across England and Wales.
Within the first few years of her career Sophia won the prestigious ‘Outstanding Newcomer in the field of Children Law’ Award in Memory of David Hershman QC. Sophia has experience of cases in the High Court and Court of Appeal involving complex issues and medical evidence.
Chartered Legal Executive
Sarah previously worked for a Merseyside based law firm for 13 years before joining SFR Law.
Sarah specialises in divorce and finance cases. She also represents clients in children cases and has dealt with complex issues in the High Court.
Sarah qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2012, although has been conducting Family Law cases since 2008 as a member of CILEx.
Sarah enjoys working with her clients to obtain the best results as cost effectively and quickly as possible.
Legal Clerk
Louise previously worked as a Barristers Clerk for many years before joining SFR Law in 2018. Louise has a wealth of experience in the legal sector especially in family law matters.
